History and Creation:

The property was acquired by the Town of Black Mountain in 1933 and redeveloped in 1978. In 1979 the Town received a Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant to develop the property for recreation purposes. The grant funds were used to create the existing park, known at the time as the Youth Center Park. The Black Mountain Recreation and Parks Master Plans states that there are plans for an update to the park, however there is not a set timeframe for when the update will take place.
