History and Creation:
In late 2009 the Board of Aldermen purchased 1.3 acres in the heart of downtown Black Mountain for the purpose of creating a Town Square. The property is located at the intersection of State Street (US 70) and Montreat Road (NC 9). In September of 2014, the Town Square was turned over by the Town Square Committee to the Town of Black Mountain.
Town Square is a park for everyone, with memorial gardens, a clock and waterfall, and plenty of places to sit and enjoy. The restrooms are open 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM year-round, and the splash pad opens during the warm months from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
